Nominating and Voting Procedures

Ohio’s Buckeye Children’s Book Award is changing its nominating and voting procedures. Beginning in December 2007 we will start a one-year cycle, with nominations occurring from December 1 to March l. The top five nominations in each category will then be announced by mid-March, so that teachers, librarians and students can become familiar with the different books and read them over the summer. Voting will take place during the months of October and November, and the winner will be announced on December 1.

Students may only nominate books published in the previous 2 years (for paperbacks, check the original hardcover publication date), and the author must be an American author.
