Nominations occur from January 1 to March 10.
The top five nominations in each category will then be announced by mid-March, so that teachers, librarians and students can become familiar with the different books and read them over the summer.
Voting will take place between September 1 and November 10, and the winner will be announced on December 1.
Students may only nominate books published in the previous 2 years (for paperbacks, check the original hardcover publication date), and the author must be originally published in the United States. Books in a series that has previously won the award, such as the Twilight saga, are not eligible for nomination. Check the winners page for past year winners.
Thank you for participating.
